"Do you enjoy talking with your cat? Sophie has a full range of vocalizations to enhance your conversational experience. She applied for some jobs as a talk show host but was rejected (probably by dog loving producers). Since she couldn't find gainful employment, she is renewing her search for that elusive forever family.

Sophie joined TKN as a socialization specialist at the tender age of 5 weeks. She was engaged to assist two kittens who came to us at 4 months old in need of help to trust humans. After success in her first post, she went to another foster home to counsel an adult cat who had been abused as a kitten. We are proud to announce that, between her efforts and those of his incredible foster family, he is seeking out pets from his forever family.

Sophie has lived in a couple of other foster homes to see how she does in different situations. In her first foster home, she convinced the dogs that they should share their sleeping space. At least one of those dogs had not shared space with a cat without chasing them in 9 years! Now, he shares space with the new foster cat -yet another success for Sophie.

She is now living in a foster home with some smaller mammals. Everyone is safely contained, and it is interesting to note that Sophie does not obsess over them. We have discovered that she REALLY enjoys being with her foster mom. She doesn't have to be carried all of the time; she just likes to be part of the action. We anticipate she would excel with kids, other pets, and busy homes. She needs a tad bit of time to adjust but, hey, who doesn't?
